We thank our AIIM Members who give their time to volunteer on various committees that help enhance planning and programs for members.
The Awards Committee celebrates excellence across the information management community. It reviews nominations and selects award recipients, honoring the people and organizations whose leadership, innovation, and contributions move the profession and AIIM’s mission forward. Because of its governance role, this committee is made up of members appointed by the Board of Directors.
The mission of AIIM's BIPOC Network is to empower and represent information management professionals from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and equitable industry landscape.
The CIP Commission champions the Certified Information Professional (CIP) credential as the mark of excellence in information management. Its members are practitioners who guide the certification’s content and direction, so the CIP stays relevant, rigorous, and aligned with the skills the profession needs today.

The Education Committee helps association staff develop, select, evaluate, and promote educational content.
The Executive Committee provides leadership and continuity between Board meetings. Its members are the Board Chair, Vice Chair, Immediate Past Chair, Treasurer, and one at-large director, with the President and CEO serving as a non-voting member. Between meetings it acts on the Board’s behalf and reports every action to the full Board at its next meeting. Because of its governance role, this committee is made up of members appointed by the Board of Directors.
The Finance Committee protects AIIM’s financial health and long-term sustainability. The Treasurer chairs it, and its members include at least one person from outside the Board. The committee reviews the annual budget before it goes to the Board and helps present it. It also oversees AIIM’s investment policy and annual audit. Because of its governance role, this committee is made up of members appointed by the Board of Directors.
The Membership Committee improves the experience of AIIM members and volunteers. It leads engagement efforts, analyzes satisfaction and feedback, and advises the Board on how to better serve the community.
The Nominating Committee helps shape AIIM’s future leadership. Each year the Board Chair appoints its five to eight members, with the Board’s approval. Using guidelines set by the Board, the committee reviews nominees for the Board of Directors and recommends candidates for the Board to consider.
