For decades, AIIM has researched the technology of information management — and one truth has held constant: technology only works when skilled, thoughtful humans are behind it. This year, our annual State of the Intelligent Information Management Industry Watch survey turned the spotlight on those humans: you.
Join us as we unveil the results of this year's survey, which drew a record-breaking response of more than 800 information management professionals. We'll explore the skills practitioners are building, the challenges they're navigating, and the evolving professional identity they carry into a field being reshaped by AI, ever-growing data volumes, and real economic pressure.
Whether you're looking to benchmark your own career path, understand where the profession is headed, or gain insight into how your peers are adapting, this session will give you a data-driven view of the people who power information management today.

In Algorithms of Oppression, Safiya Umoja Noble challenges the idea that search engines like Google offer an equal playing field for all forms of ideas, identities, and activities. Data discrimination is a real social problem; Noble argues that the combination of private interests in promoting certain sites, along with the monopoly status of a relatively small number of Internet search engines, leads to a biased set of search algorithms that privilege whiteness and discriminate against people of color, specifically women of color.
