Member Login Frequently Asked
Questions
What is my username ?
Your username is either the email address you used when
you created a new web user account with us, or a specific userid you chose
for yourself. Effective July 2004, AIIM uses email as the userid
which is required to register on the web site. If you owned a web user
account prior to this date, you might have another userid which might not
necessarily be your email address. To verify if your current email address, or an older email address
that you could have used to register, exists in our database, please use the Username and Password lookup link.
What is my password ?
When you registered on the web site you created a password
for your account. If you have forgotten this password, please use the
Username and Password lookup link.
Username and Password Lookup
Enter your Email address below and press "Submit". Please be sure to
type the email address registered with AIIM. If you have forgotten the
email address you registered with AIIM, or you no longer have access to
the email address you used to register on our site, click here.
I don't have my password and my email address has
changed from the one I used at the time I registered. How do I retrieve my
user name and password ?
You need to write to us directly. Please email webmaster@aiim.org. Be sure to
provide your full name and address with your correspondence.
- The full name you signed-up under
- The email address you signed-up under
- Your zip code
We'll look you up and email your password to your new address. Please
be sure to provide us with your current email address.
How do I change my email address (which is also my
userid to log in to the site) ?
In order to change your email address for your account,
you will first need to log on to the site using the userid and password
you registered with us. Next, click on the "View your Personal
Information" link at the top right of the screen that links
to a page containing information about your account. Use the
"Update my User Profile" link to review and update your
userId, password and any other changes that might apply.
When you change your email address you simultaneously change your
username. Your username is always the current address you have registered
with AIIM. Thus, from that point on, you will have to use the new
email address as your username to log on to the site. If you
also changed your password from this page, you will have to use
the new password to log in.
I have the correct username and password ? Why
won't it work ?
When entering your username and password into the login form be sure to
verify the following:
- Make sure your browser is enabled to accept cookies. Click here to
test this.
- If your username is your email address make sure you entered your
full email address. For example if your email address is xyz@aol.com. Be
sure to enter xyz@aol.com as your username. "xyz" alone is not your
username.
- Make sure you have not typed in any additional spaces before or
after your username and password in the form's fields.
- The login form is case sensitive. Therefore, you will need to use
upper and lower case letters when entering your username and password
exactly as they are shown in the email sent to you.
- One trick to getting the login form to work is to copy and paste
your username and then your password into the form's fields.
I'm not sure if I have cookies enabled ? How do I
check if I have cookies enabled ?
There are 2 types of cookies: Persistent cookies and Session cookies.
A persistent cookie enables a website to remember you on subsequent
visits, speeding up or enhancing your experience of services or functions
offered. For example, on your first visit to the AIIM website, you try to access
content that requires a login. When you log in or when you create a new web
account, you may consent to the option to have the login credentials stored as a persistent
cookie on your machine(if your browser has been set up to support this).
When you revisit the site it will
use the cookie to automatically log you in such that all actions/pages that require
a log in will now be seamlessly accessible to you.
A session cookie is a temporary cookie that is only active during the
time that your session with a particular web site is active. Once you
close your browser or leave it idle for 20 minutes, that session
cookie automatically expires. Without session cookies, websites
and their servers have no memory. A cookie, like a key, enables swift
passage from one place to the next. Without a cookie every time you open a
new web page the server where that page is stored will treat you like a
completely new visitor. For example, if an e-commerce site did not use
session cookies then items placed in a shopping basket would disappear by
the time you reach the checkout.
The AIIM web site uses both Persistent cookies as well as Session
cookies. While persistent cookies are optional (at the discretion of the
user to accept or reject them), acceptance of session cookies are required
on the AIIM web site in order to log in, register for events etc, purchase
products from our ecommerce catalog and access some of the rich
restricted content on our site.
You may use the following page, http://www.aiim.org/js-cookies-test.htmto test if you have
cookies enabled or disabled.
If you do not have cookies enabled, please follow the
steps below the cookie test on the same page in the link above, to
learn how to enable cookies via your browser.
My company does not allow me to
accept/enable cookies. What can I do ?
Since the AIIM web site requires the acceptance of Session
cookies in order to log in , register for events etc. purchase products
from our ecommerce catalog and access some of the rich restricted content
on our site, we can support you by having our customer service
representatives assist you with your requests. Please contact Customer
Service at 800-xxxx or email xxxx@aiim.org.
