Bob Zagami is an international author and lecturer on document management systems. He has written articles for several industry publications, including: Document Management Magazine, Administrative Management Magazine, Inform, and eDoc. He also wrote Introduction to Engineering Information Systems, published by AIIM. He has been active in AIIM (The Association for Information and Image Management International) for over 30 years, serving at both the local and national level. His involvement with the New England Chapter of AIIM dates back to 1978 and he served as chapter president in 1981-1982. During his tenure as president he established the relationship with the Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Boston. He stays active in the chapter and currently serves on the Board of Directors. Zagami has also served on AIIM's Engineering/Manufacturing Member Council executive committee and the Film-Based Imaging Association executive committee. He is the Past Chairman of the 2003 AIIM Service Company Executive Forum committee. He is a frequent speaker at various industry association events, including ARMA and AIIM. Bob has served on the AIIM Board of Directors, representing dealers and service bureaus, from 1989-1992. He received the Distinguished Service Award in 1983, was elected to the prestigious Company of Fellows in 1988, and received the Carl E. Nelson Engineering Award in 1993. In 1997 Bob was the recipient of the Award of Merit, the industry's highest honor. Bob also holds the Master of Information Technologies (MIT) and Laureate of Information Technology (LIT) for Micrographics and Engineering Document Management Systems. He is also a Certified Document Imaging Architech (CDIA+). Bob was re-appointed to the AIIM National Board of Directors in 2002 as the Chairman of the Company of Fellows. He was re-elected to the Board for a third term of Board in 2005 and was also appointed to the Executive Committee in 2006. He has also served on the planning committee for the Document Management Service Providers Executive Forum for a three year term. This is the third time that Bob has been asked to serve with this group. In March 2008 he was elected Chair of the AIIM International Board of Directors. Bob was the Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Spaulding Company, which was acquired by ImageMax in December 1997. ImageMax was acquired by DataBank, where Bob was the General Manager of the New England Region and Director of Marketing before leaving the company in March 2012. Bob is also the former president of Information Technology, Inc., which he merged with the Spaulding Company in 1993. Bob served as the Chairman of the AIIM International Board of Directors in 2008-2009.
