Editor/Community Manager for AIIM

Bio

I started at AIIM as an editorial intern for inform (AIIM's print magazine at the time) in February 1995. I discovered that I did enjoy editing a magazine, so rather than immediately pursuing a State Department or 3-letter acronym agency career with my Masters in International Polics/Peace and Conflict Resolution I took the offered assistant editor position in 1996. As I was becoming bored, the editor at the time left and I took over as the magazine's editor in October 1997. From 1997 until 2008, I edited AIIM's magazine through all various name changes, created the webinar program (with Theresa Resek, who is back to running it herself now), produced a number of posters and print buyer's guides, and discovered that managing content is a HUGE and complex issue that has only become more huge and complex since I started. I am currently editor/community manager for the online AIIM Community and it's been quite a ride since January 2010 as I've attempted to combine editorial expertise with figuring out how to understand and use enterprise 2.0/social business tools and concepts both in my own work and as a guide for others in this community. It hasn't always been fun, but it's always been interesting.
