Bio
Julie is a Certified Records Manager and has been in the information management field for more than a decade. Ms. Colgan currently serves in a consulting and advisory role for Merrill Corporation as Managing Director | Information Governance. In her current role, she assists law firm and corporate clients with the development and implementation of information governance programs.
Prior to joining Merrill, Julie served as Director of Records & Information Management for Nexsen Pruet, a 180-attorney law firm based in North and South Carolina, where she had overall responsibility for the Records Management, New Business Intake, Conflicts of Interest, Rosters/Docketing and Library functions for the firm.
In all of her engagements she focuses on containing cost, mitigating and avoiding information-related risk, and improving productivity and decision making to generate competitive advantage.
In addition to being an AIIM member, Ms. Colgan is an active member of ARMA International; she is currently a Director on the ARMA International Board of Directors and is Chair of the GARP® Steering Task Force.
Julie is a frequent speaker covering a variety of information governance topics to local, national and virtual audiences.
