“I don’t want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member.” – Groucho Marx

“Looks like I now do!” – Steve Weissman

This post marks my first as a certified AIIM Expert Blogger, and I have to say that I’m pleased indeed to be invited into the fold this way. But it also feels a little funny – much, I imagine, as it would be for a food critic to go to work for a restaurant. The official recognition and sanction are nice, but the experience is a bit inside-out.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m a big AIIM enthusiast – I spent a good long time on the old Conference Committee (finishing as its Chair) and am the current New England Chapter President, and neither of those things would have happened if I had a problem with the organization. But anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m not shy about sharing my opinion about the issues of the day. “Sometimes wrong, but never in doubt” is my mantra, and I hope you won’t be shy about calling me on stuff you disagree with.

My whole shtick is about helping you get maximum total value from your content management solutions – a phrase I use to encompass a wide range of technologies and business practices that, as we say here at Holly Group, help people “work better and work better together.” After 20+ years as a consultant, analyst, and end-user advocate, I’m your greatest fan, and it’s my fervent desire to leave you with something to think about each and every time I put (virtual) pen to (digital) paper.

Nothing makes me happier than to see organizations do great things with their solutions – it’s why I created the Process Innovation Awards as part of my Kinetic Information ‘thing’ all those years ago: to reward those who do the actual hard work. And a close second? Helping you get there through training, consulting, and blogs like this one.

Thanks for reading and commenting, today and going forward.

“Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.” – Groucho Marx
