The Future of Capture

Community Topic(s):

Just what is the future of capture technologies? How did we get to where we are today? Where is capture going tomorrow? In the past, we had departmental solutions feeding ECM/document management. In the past, we had specific solutions for "forms processing" data collection. In the past, we had demand and individual scanning, separate repositories, conversions, local filing, etc. Each of these has advantages and disadvantages to your organization. Today things have improved. But for the future, business need to reduce costs and speed processing while improving customer service and reduce risk. How do you plan to do this? Join Harvey Spencer as he discusses the future of capture and hear his answers to these important questions. Hope to join. My two cents:

Mobile capture - continue to be flirted with
Capture to SharePoint - more of a reality
And ...

The biggest changes I see is market education and user adoption. The technology is ahead of it's time, and the rate of technology advancement has actually slowed substantially, the majority are cosmetic. Really what will start changing the most is how the market views the technology, and gains a better understanding. This will help adoption across the board, and more importantly increase the success rate of capture.
