At this late date, I'm not sure if you are still looking for a solution or not. I work with a consultant who designs custom stand alone databases. His comments, when I shared your message with him, were "Inventory is in the top three toughest database types to create, along with double entry accounting and scheduling. However, if she’s willing to spend four or five thousand, we might get her a basic starter. My time is billed at $55/hour and this is at least a 50 hour project, maybe more. Don’t faint. That’s what it’s going to take. A week and a half to two weeks."
