Has anyone had experience utilizing SharePoint as the electronic document repository with an Oracle legacy database.  It would be SharePoint 2010 and Oracle 11g.   The Oracle legacy application tracks the matters for which we want to also utilize SharePoint to house the documents pertaining to those matters.  Thus Oracle would provide a source of metadata for the SharePoint documents.  We see SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite integration as a plus as far as the document management aspect is concerned - hence the question.

What benefits has this scenario provided?

What dificulties/issues/additional costs were incurred to make this scenario work?

Do you know of specific organizations that have this kind of scenario in place?
