I have reviewed the ARMA criteria of items that are required for an electronic records management application, whether DOD or Fortune 1000 and am wondering if AIIM has its own criteria or are they in agreement with ARMA's standards?

Hi MichaelI suggest that you take a look at accepted standards such as IOS15489, MoReq2, DoD5015 rather than standards put out by organizations (which follow published standards anyways).Further, I'd recommend that you determine what rules & regulations apply to your organization and build your selection criteria off of those (i.e.: define your functional req'ts).Another thing that you ought to consider is to contact peer organizations that have deployed ERM solutions and find out what they chose and whether or not they were successful.Hope this helps.Cheers!Chris

Aside: I would suggest additionally reviewing the MoReq defacto standard (both MoReq2 and MoReq2010 - as the latter doesn't include all of the extra modules that are in MoReq2). An excellent group of standards (created in the EU; certainly applicable universally). Customers are beginning to ask for and appreciate MoReq certification. Susan Goodman, CRM, ECMp, ERMs
