"Eight things" - Messages needed for the World Paper Free Day

Dear collegues, now that we have launched the"World Paper Free Day" (#WPFD) we need some strong, short messages to support this initiative - for press releases, blog entries, discussion groups, flyers, real life events. These messages should demonstrate the usefullness, effectiveness and cost-saving of electronic information management which helps us to save not only paper but as well tress, the knowledge of the world and our precious time. AIIM has developped a "tradition" of "Eight Things" - so let us create as well 8 powerfull short messages with our vision and some additional explanatory text. There will be real life events as well and I hope AIIM can create a directory with links so that we have a complete overview about the activities on this day - virtual and in real life. Kind regards, Ulrich Kampffmeyer

My personal philosophy, going paperless means not making paper. Look at where paper is created in a process, then change that process!

I agree wholeheartedly, for 30 years we have strived to eliminate paper at the source by changing the process. For instance, rather than printing and mailing an invoice--which is then copied numerous times and routed more for internal approvals--the invoice is digitally uploaded through our Digital Mailroom, routed through workflow and approved online, then sent to the ERP system for payment. No paper ever generated!
