Cross Platform ECM / EDM Technology Solutions

Good morning,

We are a small ISV that has undertaken recently the redesign of our main product lines - delivering essentially the same solution on both the .NET and Java platforms (giving our clients the choice of which platform that they are most comfortable with).

One of the final pieces in this re-architecture / re-design of our product lines is the introduction of a ECM / EDM solution. However, since we are given our clients the choice of which platform that they would like to utilize - we also expect the same with our chosen ECM solution.

Thus I am currently researching whether or not a single solution exists that can be deployed to the two separate platforms either as a discrete component in the overall architecture or possibly even embedded. When I say a single solution I don't actually mean the same solution but logically the same solution and just written for both platforms.

I know that this is expecting a lot but so far I have been able to find a single common component for every other piece of the architecture (as an example Hibernate / nHibernate).

interesting proposition and problem. But can I understand why you would not use an OpenSource ECM /EDM for your J2EE platform based solution? I guess logically speaking , as long as both the solutions supports CMIS you should be fine.

Your case is interesting , but not unique. Refer this option: Check Documentum 6.0 File Share Services, Using SDK , where you will have basic Content Management functionality exposed. Refer this link below. I d'not know this suffice your requirement on building a End to END Solution covering Content Management as well. http://www.centera.org/collateral/software/white-papers/h4552-file-share-services-wp.pdf.

Also you have similar example in the market.... I have come across similar ISV in digital marketing space name Alterian , provide .Net & Java platform Solution, refer the link attached for your reference.

Also offer Solution other Area of ECM

These are very close to your requirement, but not exact..as your looking for ...
