Case Studies - poor Records Management

Hi everyone.

I've searched through the Aiim website and Google etc. but not really found what I'm looking for. I'm trying to pull together 2 or 3 cases where poor Records and Information management has cost Companies dear, either financially or in terms of brand image, customer confidence etc.

It's to help with building business cases for implementing Document / Records Management programmes and systems.

For the U.S. anyway, seems all you'd have to do is pull the right quotes out of Judge Scheindlin's Pension Committee opinion. She makes it pretty clear that managing records properly is absolutely required. We're working with a few companies on obtaining buy-in from upper management to do just what you're addressing. Appears from your employer's website that they're in that type of business already - and if so, odd you'd need to actually make a business case.... You can search for the word spoliation, retention and sanctions and you will find lots of articles and cases where poor record management costs much more. Rambus cases being litigated in federal circuit shall give you an elaborate view of how the courts takes poor record management.
