Audit Trail features in ECM and SharePoint
Do you have/know of any best practices on managing the audit trail in ECM/SharePoint environments. I am interested in knowing if anyone has had to use the audit trail to authenticate records in court proceeding/e-discovery and used the audit trail from the ECM/SharePoint as a way of proving cration, use and/or disposition. I think this feature is a great sales item, but never used it and now finding out it is taking up about 20% of my SAN storage. Do you or any other SME recommend on moving the information into a PDF report and clearing the logs or have a better approach to systematic capture the log data routinely to lower the other storage requirement?
