Admissibility of scanned documents having a seal

I understand the highlight of legal admissibility of scanned documents in general. Does this change when a paper original has a seal (from a notary, etc), either embossed or 'wet'?
I don't expect legal advice (unless you can really give me an opinion), but I would like to know of any organizations that have undertaken a scanning program, and how they handled any additional authentication of the scanned documents to allow destruction of the paper original where documents had these physical legal 'features' on them. Better yet, where did the organization go to seek real advice regarding the ability to destroy these documents after scanning?
Many thanks,
Phil
