Do I have to take a training class?

No, there is no requirement to take a training class. A number of Information Certified professionals have completed the exam with no formal training, relying on their broad work experience and expertise.

Where can I take a training class?

AIIM is working with a number of independent training providers to provide training courses. A full list of these partners will be available soon. For the interim, you may wish to review our training videos

    Does AIIM offer training?

AIIM contracted with Holly Group to develop a series of free training videos that are available for review. AIIM Professional members also will soon be able to download the PowerPoint slides with speaker notes from the AIIM website. If you are a Professional member and would like access to these slides now, please send an email request to mhearn@aiim.org. AIIM does not presently plan to offer formal training courses itself but will instead rely on its training partners to provide them.

Do I have to document my experience in the industry?

There is no formal experience requirement in order to take the exam. AIIM does recommend that candidates have 2-4 years of experience in a variety of information-related processes and roles.
