Want to know where in the development process a standard is? Look no further than here.
Each of these categories represents a major step in the development of an
ANSI/AIIM standard, recommended practice or technical report or an AIIM
Recommended Practice (ARP).
In Development
A standards 'In Development' means that the committee is still working on fine tuning the document to meet the needs of the industry.
Approval Ballot
Once the committee has reached consensus (does not mean unanimity has been reached), the standard is then sent through several approval ballot stages including the AIIM Standards Board, AIIM National Standards Council (AIIM's consensus body), ANSI Public Review and AIIM Membership.
Publishing
Upon approval, the standard is then published and made available through the
AIIM Bookstore for purchase.
On occasion, AIIM may either adopt an ISO standard as an ANSI/AIIM/ISO standard and/or withdraw a standard that is not longer applicable to the industry.
