Participation Requirements

Participation in AIIM Standards Committees is open to any individual or company that wants to participate. While there are no requirements to be a member of AIIM, it is recommended that participants be a minimum of an Associate member. Committee chairs and members of the AIIM Standards Board are required to be Individual members of AIIM.

Members of the AIIM Standards Board are elected to the Standards Board and confirmed by the AIIM Board of Directors. Members of the U. S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) must be domiciled in the United States to be members. Membership on the TAG is confirmed by the TAG.

AIIM does not reimburse for travel or expenses associated with participating on any Standards Committees. Therefore, it is important to ensure that your company will support your participation prior to becoming involved. The majority of the meetings are held as conference calls, however, there are occasions when meetings may require travel.

The amount of time required to participate is determined by the degree to which you decide you want to volunteer to write or attend meetings.
