Based on an AIIM survey, we look at the adoption of OCR and ICR for forms data capture. We found that most organizations are not performing automated hand print or cursive character recognition of data on business forms, choosing instead to key in valuable information (which is expensive) or to not capture it at all, leaving valuable information on the table.  The report has recommendations for evaluating the recent improvements in hand-writing recognition technology, and the potential benefits.
