Product Study FAQs

Whose opinion is the report?

The opinion is that of the author based on his/her extensive industry experience. The report also contains product descriptions and analysis compiled from information received from users, implementers, and most of the vendors within the report.

How were the user ratings gathered and compiled?

The user ratings came from members of the 65,000+ AIIM community, requested via the website on the products listed, along with numerous survey requests transmitted via social media and emails.

Where did the information regarding the vendors in the report come from?

The product descriptions are gathered from extensive industry research and interviews. We also contacted vendors for detailed product descriptions, and this information was then compiled along with the authors’ opinion to create the report.

If I purchase the report, and you update this information, how do I get a copy of these updates?

We will on a regular basis release new versions of the report, but this will have to be purchased from the AIIM website.

The report is only available as PDF, but you are of course free to print the report if you prefer it as hardcopy.

I am a vendor listed in the report and believe the information is inaccurate. How do I relay my comments?

Please send documentation of inaccurate information to AIIM Editor Bryant Duhon at bduhon@aiim.org. AIIM will then address this with the author of the report; validate this with other industry experts or users; and correct inaccurate information in the next version of the report. AIIM has also added a "Comment" area for vendors in the online guides; company representatives are welcome to comment and respond to user ratings and reviews in that space as well. AIIM will vigorously monitor these comments to ensure that there is no spam and that only representatives from the companies are commenting there.

I am a vendor not listed in the report. How do I get included in the next version?

Please contact AIIM Editor Bryant Duhon at bduhon@aiim.org to receive a product description form specific to that report. While we will list all relevant vendors for our freely available online Buyer’s Guides (www.aiim.org/community/product-guide/capture; www.aiim.org/community/product-guide/erm; and www.aiim.org/community/product-guide/social-business), inclusion in these more comprehensive reports will be at the discretion of AIIM and the respective authors of the reports.

I am not an AIIM member. Can my product be listed?

Yes. These guides are meant to be as inclusive and comprehensive as possible. AIIM trade membership is not required for you to participate.

I have more than one product; must I select only one for the report or online guide?

No. Again, these guides are meant to be comprehensive. If you have a product not listed in either the report or the online guide, please contact AIIM Editor Bryant Duhon at bduhon@aiim.org to receive a product description form.

I work for a vendor and our product is described in the report. Can I get a free copy?

No, you must purchase the report to learn how AIIM community members and expert experience rate your product (and your competitor’s products).

Do I have to pay AIIM to be included in the report?

No, AIIM and the experts writing the report work together to identify the companies that will be included.
