As an increasing amount of vital business documents and
records are born digital; long-term access to those pieces of content will be
increasingly difficult—unless you start planning now. While a paper record might
be difficult to find after a number of years, you’re almost certain to be able
to read it once you do. Digital content is a little (to understate the case)
more problematic. Media degradation; metadata/search concerns; not to mention
the need to migrate content from software system to software system to maintain
access can all lead to loss of fidelity, chain of custody, or just not being
able to ever find a critical piece of content again.
What’s the answer? While specifics, of course, will differ depending on your
business needs—you need to PLAN. Join us for a discussion around determining
your vital records and then the elements of the plan that you need to undertake
so that you can find—and read—them as long as necessary.
