MOORESTOWN, NJ – May 13, 2013 – OPEX announces the release of CertainScan 3.0.  CertainScan is the software that drives the OPEX family of scanners.  CertainScan 3.0 will greatly enhance the functionality of the AS7200 for OPEX’s customers.  Among other features, the software allows for four levels of classification, flexible batch naming, and the ability to suspend multiple batches and return to them later if there is a need to prioritize other work.

CertainScan 3.0 eliminates the requirement for physical separator sheets by introducing a revolutionary new tool - Virtual Separator Sheets.  It is no longer necessary to print, store and use separator sheets.  CertainScan 3.0 will insert an image of a separator sheet into the batch with a simple touch of the screen, or by swiping a document under the OpAssist sensor.  The potential savings are significant for shops that use hundreds or even thousands of separator sheets each day.

OPEX has made a further step down the document processing pipeline by introducing a module that allows for batch editing.  This module allows the scanner operator or a quality control person to further manipulate and perfect the batch before it is released to the back-end software.  Images within the batch can be re-ordered, deleted, rescanned, replaced or cleaned up if necessary. 

An additional enhancement in CertainScan 3.0 is the batch transform module. This module converts images to a chosen image output format and allows metadata output to be mapped to the back-end software’s import modules, greatly reducing or eliminating the need for custom software interfaces. This module also eases the integration of OPEX’s AS7200 into legacy systems.
