Jahia Execs Report from CMS Expo Conference

May 16, 2013

Attendees focused on mobile content strategy and business application integration

CHICAGO, May 16, 2013 Jahia executives reported from the CMS Expo in Chicago this week that attendees agreed that enterprise CMS projects are an integration play, rather than a suite play; in other words, data should be pulled or pushed from/to external business applications to enable the most unique user experience.

Elie Auvray  and Emmanuel Garcin, who spoke at the conference, said that another main discussion topic among the several hundred attendees at the event was the need for business users to control their content over time and over different channels, in order to fine tune their customers’ experience and let them engage with the brand or product.

Auvray spoke to conference attendees about the advantages of modular, standards-based, and open content platforms. He said that these support the importance of roles in the new digital presence paradigm, where people should work the way they’re supposed to, not the way technical constraints force you to. Rigid technology should not hamper the development of Web/mobile initiatives.

One of the popular talks at the conference was Garcin’s, which focused on how new technologies are helping organizations transform their online presence. Attendees had the chance to hear about key trends in what content enabled applications are doing for businesses and the separation of CMS platforms and applications.

Auvray is CEO and co-founder of Jahia Solutions Group; Garcin is vice president and general manager, Jahia Americas.
