About the Distinguished Service Award

Established in 1973, this award is open to all Professional Members. The Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals whose outstanding service benefited the advancement of ECM technology through AIIM Chapters, national or international standards development, other committee activity, or volunteerism especially in the past twelve (12) months. No more than ten (10) individuals shall be recognized each year. To be eligible to receive the Distinguished Service Award, each nominee must:

  • Be a Professional Member of AIIM;
  • Demonstrated active voluntarism during the past twelve (12) months; and
  • Demonstrated service to the ECM industry, chapters, standards, or other voluntarism serving the Association.

No member of the Board of Directors can receive an Association award during his/her tenure on the Board (with the exception of the Best Practices Awards, which are voted on by the membership). Members of the Board cannot make nominations for the Awards. Nominations shall be made by an AIIM Professional Member, or an employee of any AIIM Trade or Advisory Trade Member. Recipients will be selected by the AIIM Awards Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.

To nominate an AIIM Professional Member, please send a letter of nomination detailing their service in the industry over the last year. Letters should include both the nominee's and nominator's full contact information. Letters of nomination should be emailed to Betsy Fanning, Director, Standards and Chapter Relations, at bfanning@aiim.org, with the header, "DSA Nomination" no later than January 22, 2013. Questions?
